Townhouse Transforms to a Smart House

Nested in one of Auckland's trendy suburbs this 90's townhouse has been renovated into a sophisticated Smart Home. The homeowners wanted a fully automated home, from the front gate, to the gas fireplace and everything in between. Often traveling overseas the home  required a comprehensive security system that could be controlled both from the home and remotely. This home automation system was tailored to match this amazing home and how the homeowners day-to-day lives.

EAV - Security

Lock and Leave!

The state of the art security system features; two IP graded security cameras, automated front and pedestrian gates, garage door and internal doors. The security system is fully automated into Control4, allowing the homeowners to check the cameras, unlock the door or gate, and set the alarm with one button. When travelling the homeowners use the Smart App to check and manage the security, and receive notifications when the system is activated.

EAV - Convenience

Comfort is Key

Comfort is taken to a new level with outdoor louvers, fans, underfloor heating, gas fireplace and electric blinds. Fully automated on timers the home can essentially run itself. Smart lighting and customised keypads throughout the house not only control the lights, but can turn on/off many of the above elements. Keypads can also be used to create a number of different scenes. The 'Morning' button turns the lounge radio on a low volume, opens the blinds, and turns the downstairs lights on. These can be operated remotely, allowing the home owner to close the blinds and turn on the heating on their way home.

I’m very happy with what has been installed. I’m sure we have only scratched the surface of what it can do

EAV - Entertainment

The Heart of the Home

The 3 Audio Zones allow the whole entertainment area to be filled with music, or each zone can be operated independently. The homeowners can easily play music from their favourite streaming services including Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn radio or from their personal iTunes library. If music isn't enough the lounge features a 60" 4K TV that is discretely hidden behind motorised doors when not in use.

EAV - Networking

The backbone to the Smart Home

Having a reliable network is important in any Smart Home. This house has a long and narrow layout, making it challenging for reliable Wifi throughout. Fibre was installed into the network and paired with two wireless access points. This ensures the home has Ultra Fast Broadband regardless of where you are in the home. This is essential from when the family watch their favourite streaming services including Netflix, Lightbox and Apple TV.
